Typhoon Nisah Disaster Relief Foundation Aid and Grant Guidelines

I. In accordance with the letter from the Taiwan Foundation for Disaster Relief dated October 19, 2022, Ref: 0001110454. II. The Taiwan Foundation for Disaster Relief, with the aim of utilizing social resources, integrating civilian efforts, and assisting in disaster relief and reconstruction in areas affected by natural disasters, has established various key points and regulations. Please disseminate these to your organization (schools, kindergartens, venues) and assist faculty, staff, and students in applying for: (1) "Key Points for Disaster Relief Assistance to Victims of Major Natural Disasters": To assist victims of major natural disasters, regarding assistance for death, disappearance, severe injury, relocation, rental assistance, flood relief for residents, assistance for orphaned children, adolescents, the elderly, and persons with disabilities, and emergency material assistance. The central social affairs competent authority or the municipal/county/city government of the disaster-stricken area shall compile lists and review compliance before submitting an application with relevant supporting documents, specifying the items for which assistance is sought, the number of households (persons), and the specific facts. (2) "Scholarship" Application Regulations: To assist children from low-income vulnerable disaster-affected families in disaster areas of major natural disasters in overcoming educational difficulties. For students enrolled in universities, vocational high schools (first three years of junior college), junior high schools, and elementary schools, who do not receive public funding or educational subsidies for children of military, government, and education personnel. The schools where the children of disaster-affected families are enrolled shall collect the relevant application documents and submit them to the Foundation for application (no formal letter required). Application deadlines: First (fall) semester: September 10th to October 10th annually. Second (spring) semester: February 10th to March 10th annually. (3) "Key Points for Reconstruction and Re-purchase Assistance for Residences of Victims of Major Natural Disasters": To assist victims of major natural disasters in domestic areas whose own residences are damaged to the point of being uninhabitable, to rebuild or re-purchase. The municipal/county/city governments of the disaster areas and the organizing authorities shall compile lists and review compliance before submitting an application with relevant supporting documents. The application qualifications are briefly described as follows: 1. Damage to own residence due to major natural disasters, to the extent that it is uninhabitable, or dangerous residences located in hazardous areas that have been announced by the government as requiring relocation. The owner of the residence must also be registered and have a factual residence. Neither the applicant nor their spouse shall own any other residence. 2. Category 1: The average household income distributed among all family members does not exceed the minimum living expense standard announced by the government for that year, and the family assets do not exceed a certain amount. Category 2: The average household income distributed among all family members does not exceed 1.5 times the minimum living expense standard announced by the government for that year, and the family assets do not exceed a certain amount.
