Shih Chien Primary School, Taipei City, Plan for Shortening the School Year for Gifted Students (Details in Attachment)
I. Eligibility
Revised and announced in accordance with the "Taipei City Regulations for Shortening the School Year for Gifted Students in Senior High Schools and Below" by the Department of Education, Taipei City Government, on November 5, 110 (Doc. No.北市教特字1103099986),Students applying to shorten their school year must possess gifted qualifications; those without gifted qualifications must first pass the gifted identification assessment recognized by the Taipei City Assessment and Counseling Committee and meet the passing standard.:
(1) Students with gifted qualifications: Students who have been identified as gifted in general intelligence, academic aptitude, or artistic talent by the city's assessment and counseling committee (proof of identification number must be provided) do not need to undergo further assessment.
(2) Students without gifted qualifications: The school will conduct a gifted qualification assessment, and the assessment results must reach two standard deviations above the mean or the 97th percentile or higher.
(3) The gifted qualification assessment mentioned above shall be conducted using standardized assessment tools recognized by the Taipei City Assessment and Counseling Committee, and the test results are valid for three years; those who do not meet the passing standard may not be retested within two years.
(4) Gifted qualifications across different educational stages must be re-certified.
