To encourage citizens to engage in volunteer service, the Ministry of Health and Welfare will award those who have accumulated 3,000 hours or more of service, possess a Volunteer Service Record Book, and hold a Volunteer Service Performance Certificate. Those who have accumulated 3,000, 5,000, or 8,000 hours or more of service will be awarded the "Bronze Medal Award," "Silver Medal Award," and "Gold Medal Award," respectively, along with a certificate. Each person is limited to receiving one award of the same level.
