Internet world connection, gender equality depends on you and me

I. Objectives

I.Encourage teachers to design teaching activities that integrate gender equality education with technology and life, cultivating students' awareness of gender equality.

II. Guide students to think critically about new gender equality issues in digital life..

III. Promote gender equality education in schools to establish a friendly learning environment free from gender discrimination and violence.

II. Competition Rules

 I. Theme and Content: Students collect information themselves,and participate according to the competition items and rules for each grade level, presenting content related to the theme.

II. Participants: Students in the lower, middle, and upper grades of public and private (including national) elementary schools in the city for the 112 academic year.

              Each school should remind students to choose the competition item based on their grade level in the 112 academic year.

III. Number of Participants: Each school must recommend at least 1 entry from each grade level (lower, middle, and upper). Each school can submit a maximum of 6 entries (2 for lower grades, 2 for middle grades, 2 for upper grades). Each student is limited to submitting 1 entry. Instructors can guide multiple entries simultaneously.

IV. Competition Items and Rules

( I)Lower Grades: Postcard Express

1.Format: Postcard, with no recipient specified. It can be addressed to a person (public figure or celebrity) or organization advocating for gender equality issues. Through the appeal of the person or organization, it emphasizes concepts of gender equality, awareness of body boundaries, and self-protection in the field of internet technology.

2.Minimum of 50 words. Must be handwritten in black or blue pen (pencils are not allowed). Zhuyin is also acceptable.

3.Please use writing paper or 150gsm or thicker paper to create the postcard on both sides. The background color is not restricted. Detailed specifications are in Attachment 1”.

( II)Middle Grades: Draw and Speak Gender Equality

1.Format: Four-panel comic strip (flat creation, no three-dimensional design), the theme content should use a plot to introduce how to be mindful of gender equality and friendliness, and prevent gender-based violence and danger when making friends and interacting on various social media platforms.

2.Must use 8K drawing paper (39x27 cm). The paper should be oriented horizontally for creation. Limited to four-panel comic strips. The composition, color usage, creativity, and techniques should be expressed freely in a lively and engaging manner to convey the theme's meaning and key points. Limited to "flat creation." No three-dimensional design is allowed.

( III)Upper Grades: I am a Netizen for Gender Equality

1.Format: Modern poem (including illustrations), the title is self-determined, create freely on one A4 paper and present with illustrations. The text should be typed by computer, and the illustrations must also be drawn by the student, then converted into a PDF file. When submitting, include the hard copy (color printout) and upload the PDF file. For example: use poetic verses to describe and present the inclusive imagery of society and the internet world, leading to issues of gender equality, safety, and multiculturalism that may be encountered online, expressing gender equality concepts through text and illustrations.

2.KaiTi font, size 14, within 300 characters including punctuation. Electronic file save name:

        "School Mailbox Number (3 digits)-School Name-Student Name-Poem Title", e.g., 043-Guoyu Elementary School-Lin Xiaoyu

-Poem Title.

III, Submission Guidelines

  I. School Preliminary Competition: Each school may organize its own preliminary competition. The competition rules are determined by each school. Each school must recommend at least 1 entry from each grade level (lower, middle, and upper) to participate in the city-wide semi-finals. Each school can submit a maximum of 6 entries (2 for lower grades, 2 for middle grades, 2 for upper grades).

II, City-wide Semi-finals

(I) Submission Period for Entries: September 25, 2023 (Monday) to September 28, 2023 (Thursday) at 4:00 PM.

(II) Please organize the submission materials in the following order:

  1. Attachment 2: Entry Label and Submitted Work.
  2. Attachment 3: Registration Summary Form (original with seal).
  3. Attachment 4: Copyright Declaration Form for Instructor's Work.
  4. Attachment 5: Copyright Declaration Form for Student's Work by Legal Guardian.

( III) Instructions for Each Submission Item:

  1. The back of the entries for lower, middle, and upper grades must have a label attached.
  2. The school coordinator should fill in the work information in the form and upload the electronic file of the modern poem (parents and students should not fill this out).
