1. In accordance with the Ministry of Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's letter No. Tai Jiao Guo Shu Xue Zi Di 1130004761, dated January 15, 113.
2. According to the international epidemic monitoring data from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Centers for Disease Control, the number of dengue fever cases in many Southeast Asian countries remains high, and the epidemic in the Americas continues, posing a risk of imported cases to our country. Furthermore, sporadic local outbreaks are still occurring domestically, necessitating enhanced efforts to eliminate breeding grounds and maintain vigilance.
3. Although temperatures have recently dropped significantly, daytime temperatures remain warm, and occasional rainfall still favors the growth of vector mosquitoes. To prevent outbreaks and protect the health of faculty, staff, students, and the community, please strengthen the following epidemic prevention measures:
(1) During winter vacation travel or activities abroad, it is essential to take mosquito repellent measures, including wearing light-colored long-sleeved clothing and applying mosquito repellent approved by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to exposed skin. Upon returning to the country and entering, if experiencing symptoms such as fever or headache suggestive of dengue fever/chikungunya/Zika virus infection, please seek medical attention promptly and proactively inform the doctor of your travel history for diagnosis and treatment reference.
(2) During the winter vacation, continue to implement environmental management for managed buildings, open spaces, vacant houses, public construction sites, and facilities. Regular inspections should be conducted, and the "inspect, dump, clear, brush" practice should be strictly followed. For example, any accumulated water should be cleared immediately, and unnecessary containers should be reduced to prevent the breeding of vector mosquitoes such as those causing dengue fever. Additionally, increase inspection frequency after rain, at hotspots where positive breeding grounds have been found, and at construction sites, and cooperate with health authorities in various prevention and control measures.
