"2024 Carbon Sink Capacity Building Workshop (Taoyuan-Hsinchu Session)" Activity Brochure

I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. 1132701736 dated April 23, 113.

II. In response to climate change and in line with the global net-zero emission goals, the Ministry of Education, through the carbon sequestration calculation function of the "Campus Tree Information Platform," is assessing the carbon sequestration status of trees within campuses to enhance teachers' and students' understanding of the role of green plants in energy saving and carbon reduction, and to promote the concept of loving trees. Therefore, the aforementioned activity is being organized.

III. The details of this activity are as follows:

(I) Participants: Personnel from county and city education bureaus, environmental education counseling groups, school environmental education teachers, school tree maintenance personnel, planting personnel, or interested school colleagues.

(II) Time: May 22, 113 (Wednesday), from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Registration starts at 12:00 PM (lunch will be provided). The seminar will officially begin at 12:50 PM.

(III) Location: National Hsinchu Senior High School, Resource Building 2F Lecture Hall (No. 36, Xuefu Road, East District, Hsinchu City).

(IV) Registration Method: Online registration is open from now until May 15, 113 (Wednesday) at 5:00 PM. The capacity is limited to 50 participants. Multiple participants from the same school can register, but if the limit is exceeded, the organizer will select participants based on the principle of maximizing the number of participating schools and the order of registration. (V) Schools are requested to grant official leave (or business leave) and arrange for substitute teaching for attending personnel.

IV. Civil servants, teachers, and environmental education personnel who fully participate in the seminar will receive 3 hours of environmental education hours (including extended hours), teacher training hours, or lifelong learning hours for civil servants. If you require these hours, please indicate your needs in the registration form and sign in and out at the event.

VI. A total of 6 carbon sequestration enhancement seminars are planned for this year. This is the 4th session. Information on subsequent activities will be announced separately.
