DIYGreen related three remote courses

National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University is offering three free online DIYGreen courses, with enrollment now open. We welcome teachers from all levels, including kindergartens, to register.

1. DIYGreen Zero-Waste Circular Urban Farm: Developed by Professor Kao Cheng-Chung's team at our university's Institute of Environmental Engineering to address Taiwan's environmental issues, this is the world's first DIY zero-waste circular urban farm with recycled bottles as its base. It can create green spaces for growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers on corridors, balconies, rooftops, and flat ground, suitable for DIY by all ages, from children to the elderly.

2. DIYGreen is applicable to courses and workshops in environmental studies, nature, sustainability, practical skills, food and agriculture, ecology, life skills, biology, home economics, inquiry and experimentation, earth science, project creation, and clubs. It meets the practical needs of many curriculum requirements. Successful teaching cases using DIYGreen have been implemented in schools at all levels, allowing students to observe nearby in corridors.

3. Course Information - DIYGreen offers three free online courses on the Ewant platform:

(1) DIYGreen Zero-Waste Circular Urban Farm - Pot Type and Tree Planter: https://www.ewant.org/admin/tool/mooccourse/mnetcourseinfo.php?hostid=13&id=14090; Duration: Approx. 5 hours; Content: Introduction to DIYGreen + Introduction and demonstration of DIYGreen pot type and tree planter kit installation + DIYGreen demonstration farm.

(2) DIYGreen Zero-Waste Circular Urban Farm - Frame Type: https://www.ewant.org/admin/tool/mooccourse/mnetcourseinfo.php?hostid=13&id=14307; Duration: Approx. 2 hours; Content: Introduction to DIYGreen frame type + Introduction and demonstration of DIYGreen frame type kit installation.

(3) DIYGreen Zero-Waste Circular Urban Farm - Hui-character Circular Earthworm Farming: https://www.ewant.org/admin/tool/mooccourse/mnetcourseinfo.php?hostid=13&id=14306; Duration: Approx. 1 hour; Content: Introduction to earthworms + Introduction and demonstration of DIYGreen Hui-character circular earthworm farming box kit installation + preparation of worm food + worm liquid fertilizer. It is recommended to complete the first course before taking the other two.

4. Everyone is welcome to enroll. Teachers, please provide your information in the [Pre-course Questionnaire]. Upon completion of the course, your [Environmental Education] training hours will be registered.

5. Course Period: From now until 2024/12/19. Please schedule your own class time after enrollment.

6. Please follow these steps to enroll:

(1) First, register for an account on Ewant: https://ewant.org. Note: Please use your real name for registration, as you will need to provide a screenshot with your real name for proof, and teachers also need their real name to register hours. Teachers, please provide the necessary information for hour registration in the pre-course questionnaire.

(2) Click on the course links above (or search for DIYGreen) to start the course (follow the [Course Map] for each course sequentially). You can take the course in segments at your convenience; there is no need to complete it all at once.

(3) After completing the course and the quiz (correct answers will be provided if you answer incorrectly), please take a screenshot in the [View Score] section. Ensure your name is included in the top right corner of the screenshot.

(4) Send the screenshot to the DIYGreen LINE ID: diygreen to discuss teaching applications of DIYGreen.

(5) If you are unsure whether your location is suitable for DIYGreen (especially regarding sunlight), you are welcome to send photos of your location for discussion.

(6) If you have any questions during the planting period, feel free to contact us for exchange and discussion at any time.
