2024 Children's Recognition of Labor Rights Four-Panel Comic Submission Competition

{{ $t('FEZ002') }} Student Affairs Office|

I. Purpose

To further promote labor education in schools, this plan targets students in the middle and upper grades of elementary schools in the city. A four-panel comic strip contest will be held for children to learn about labor rights. Through this competitive activity, we aim to encourage teachers to integrate labor education into art classes and guide students in creating four-panel comic strips. This will inspire students to understand and care about the dignity of labor and the workplace environment, thereby enhancing their labor literacy as future citizens.

II. Submission Period: September 13 to October 15, 2024.

III. Competition Categories and Submissions

The competition is divided into two categories based on grade level:

1.Middle Grades (Grades 3 & 4).

2.Upper Grades (Grades 5 & 6).

Submissions should be made under the unit of "school." Each student is limited to submitting "1" entry. Each school can submit a maximum of 5 entries per category. Please submit your works to the Student Affairs Office, Student Guidance Section, by October 11 (Friday).

IV.Content of Submissions

Create four-panel comic strips on the following themes:

  1. Depict the labor experiences or work scenarios of family members or friends, illustrating their work, stories, or the hardships of their professions.
  2. Focus on compliance with labor laws and understanding labor rights, illustrating basic labor rights such as employers providing overtime pay, employers contributing to labor insurance and pension funds for employees, rejecting workplace overwork, and important labor rights for part-time workers.
  3. Other labor-related themes, such as gender equality in the workplace, current labor issues, and inspiration. In conjunction with Taipei's 140th anniversary, focus on the value of labor in Taipei, including Taipei's labor stories, the history of occupational evolution in Taipei, the hardships of work in Taipei, traditional occupations in Taipei (e.g., Yongle Fabric Market), and modern occupations in Taipei.
