Taipei Connects to the World ~ Recognizing the True Face of Tobacco Companies

The Taipei City Department of Health, in conjunction with the Department of Education and the John Tung Foundation, is organizing the "Taipei Connects Globally ~ Recognizing the True Face of Tobacco Companies" quiz and lucky draw event (as attached). Students are encouraged to actively register and participate.

I. In accordance with the Department's 113th Year Tobacco Hazard Prevention Plan and the "113th Year Taipei City Promotion of Tobacco and New Tobacco Products" service procurement case.

II. The World Health Organization (WHO) theme for tobacco hazard prevention in 2024 is "Exposing the True Face of Tobacco Companies: Protecting Children and Adolescents, Preventing Tobacco Industry Interference." To enhance students' awareness of smoking refusal and understanding of the new tobacco hazard prevention laws, as well as the harms of tobacco and new tobacco products in high schools and vocational high schools in the city, the aforementioned event is being organized, and promotional posters are being produced.

III. The relevant information for the aforementioned event (details in the event regulations) is summarized as follows:

(I) Participants: Students currently enrolled in elementary schools, junior high schools, and senior high/vocational high schools in Taipei City.

(II) Event Period: From October 11, 113 to November 15, 113.

(III) Event Website: Details can be found in the event regulations or by scanning the QR code on the promotional poster to enter the event webpage.

(IV) Prizes: For the elementary school group, junior high school group, and senior high school group, the prizes for each group are as follows:

1. Grand Prize - Apple iPad 10 (64GB): 1 winner per group (3 winners in total).

2. First Prize - Post Office Cash Gift Certificate NT$1,600: 5 winners per group (15 winners in total).

(V) Winner Announcement: The list of winners is expected to be announced by the end of November, 113, on the website of the Taipei City Department of Health and the John Tung Foundation's Chinese Quit Smoking Network.

(VI) The John Tung Foundation will proactively contact the schools and homeroom teachers of the winning students to assist with the receipt and collection of prizes, and the prizes will be distributed by mid-December, 113.
