I. To strengthen the understanding of climate change education (CCE), education for sustainable development (ESD), and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) among educators at all levels in our country, in response to the redefinition of climate change education in our "Climate Change Response Act," and the directives from President Lai at the third meeting of the National Council for Climate Change Policy (https://www.president.gov.tw/News/39011), moving towards the international trend of "Climate Change and Sustainable Development Education" (CCESD = CCE + ESD), and linking with the SDGs to become CCESDG. The CTCI Education Foundation (CTCIEF), in conjunction with the Ministry of Education's Climate Change Education Promotion Plan under the Climate Change Teaching Information Platform, and the Graduate Institute of Sustainable Management and Environmental Education at National Taiwan Normal University, jointly organized the aforementioned call for proposals to encourage teachers to develop "Climate Change and Sustainable Development Lesson Plans."
II. The content of the call for proposals should focus on the United Nations' promoted "Climate Change Education" (CCE) combined with "Education for Sustainable Development" (ESD), using climate change-related topics as subject matter (e.g., mitigation, adaptation, climate science, net-zero emissions, climate finance, just transition, etc.) to construct school-based curricula. Considering the cross-disciplinary and multi-perspective characteristics of "Sustainable Development," incorporate key global and local economic, social, and environmental issues into the curriculum themes, and integrate them with local characteristics.
III. Online Proposal Briefing Session: March 26, 2025 (Wednesday), 10:00-11:00, a Google Meet online meeting will be held (https://meet.google.com/bwz-gxigcfn), and announcements will be made on the Foundation's Facebook fan page (https://www.facebook.com/CTCIEF/) and official website.
